Staff in the Spotlight – Koysor Miah

I studied law at A-Level and this is where I picked up a real passion and keen interest in the subject. I have always been inquisitive and love problem solving and studying law and pursuing a career in the legal profession has allowed me to do this. After A-Levels I went on to study law at degree level at the University of Westminster. After completing my LLB I continued my journey into the legal profession by undertaking my Legal Practice Course at the College of Law London Bloomsbury before completing my training contract and being admitted onto the official role of solicitors in June 2010.

I joined Baldwin and Robinson in September 2019 as the Head of Residential Conveyancing, having previously spent 4 years at a Bromley firm as a Senior Associate. What really appealed to me about the firm was its friendly, relaxed and fun-loving working environment as well as their client focused approach and goal to deliver a personal service to clients to ensure that clients meet their objectives.

As Head of the Conveyancing Department, I undertake all aspects of freehold and leasehold purchases and sales including high value complex transactions. I also deal with lease extensions both formal under the 1993 Act and informal, collective enfranchisement, transfer of equity, remortgages, company property acquisitions and disposals, auction sales and purchases, BTL portfolio management, new build purchases and right to buy transactions.

In addition to my residential property expertise, I also act for clients in the sale and purchase of small to medium sized businesses and undertake all aspects of commercial lease drafting, lease renewals, assigning leases, rent deposits, rent reviews, lease determination/surrender, lease breaches and premises alterations amongst other things.

I also have an extensive background in dispute resolution, civil and commercial litigation and landlord and tenant law. I have conducted cases in the High Court Queens Bench and Chancery divisions where I have advocated and represented clients in complex litigation matters.

In my spare time I am an avid football fan and love to play when I can. I also love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit and explore some wonderful places but there are many more places still to add to the list. I have also recently developed a keen interest in cooking much to delight of my wife!
